Paper Peach

Our Process

A lot of my designs were custom-designed from scratch for friends, family, and other people who were looking for something special.

The beginning stages of a design begins with researching trends (thank you, Pinterest!), seeing what color schemes are really popular, combing through my {MASSIVE} font library, and/or implementing something that I've been chewing on for awhile (couldn't wait to create that mini accordion fold holiday card!).

Once I have a good idea for the format and design, I usually skip sketching, and go straight to the computer. The magic happens with the typography. Most of my designs are inspired by type, and this is typically where I start. Once I start, I really get focused, and hours can pass without even realizing it. This is called design nirvana, and if I can get here at least once a week, I am happy.

Once I have something pretty good, and I feel like I could stop, and send it to you, I keep working on it. I add little flourishes, dots, lines, extra space here, maybe a line break here. I really want it to be perfect before I show you guys.

Next, I wait to see what you think. Most of the time, you are really blown away, but usually there are a few things you would like to change, and from there, we'll work together to create something that really makes you happy and proud when they look at it. It's an honor to work with you to make invitations and paper goods that make their way into the homes of your closest friends and family.

Once the design has been perfected, I'll send the printable DIY file to you, or I'll send them to print. When preparing the files for delivery or printing, I create a high-resolution file. Yes, the file is huge, and takes forever to download, but it will be worth it in the end!

If you have ordered printed cards, I utilize a professional print shop that is employee-owned, earth-conscious, and based right in the heart of the US. They employ state-of-the-art technology for digital printing, they recycle, conserve energy, and they have teamed up with Trees Water & People to support their Reforestation Program. Nearly 4,000 seedlings have been planted! Once your file has been received, it is reviewed by three pre-press experts before printing. With digital printing, plates do not need to be created. Because there is no plate, there is no by-product waste from creating a plate or the waste of the plate itself. Plus, digital is fast! Your design will be printed promptly using non-toxic dry inks on paper that has been approved by the Forrest Stewardship Council of the US. Once your cards are printed, they are inspected for quality, wrapped for moisture protection, and carefully packaged. Then they are shipped to you via freight or plane; printed joy right to your front door! Now, isn't that something?
